Artist's Statement

While ecology, spirituality, gender, cross-cultural connections, and geopolitical power struggles have been inspirations for my work, much of my recent body of work has been devoted to tree imagery.

Versatility and experimentation have formed my art over the years. Utilizing paint, mixed media, sculpture and computer technology to create works, I have also developed large and small-scaled installations. Fascinated by texture, my work often assumes an organic quality.

Bio

After a career in the advertising and public relations industry, I began my art career in the 1980's . My work has been exhibited extensively in the U.S., as well as group shows in Hong Kong, Paris, Mexico, Japan, Korea and Italy. I was a nominee for the SFMOMA SECA award and the U.S. Art in Embassies Program selected my paintings for exhibition. My work has twice been chosen for "Selections,"  a juried competition of the SF Open Studios. I have been a member of the Alliance of Women Artists, an international coalition dedicated to the support of women in the visual arts, and participated for twelve years in the Global Culture Center dedicated to promotion of an international exchange of art and culture.
