Bio

I was born in Texas and received a bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University. After working in the advertising and public relations industry, I began my art career in the 1980's and received an MFA from Summit University in New Orleans. My work has been exhibited extensively in the U.S., as well as group shows in Hong Kong, Paris, Mexico, Japan, Korea and Italy. I was nominated for the SF MOMA SECA award in 1996, and the U.S. Art in Embassies Program selected my paintings for exhibition. My work has twice been chosen for "Selections" a juried competition of Open Studios. I am a founding member and past president of the SOMA Artists Cooperative (now SOMA Artists' Studios) where my studio is located. I have been a member of the Alliance of Women Artists, an international coalition of women artists dedicated to the support of women in the visual arts. I participated as an American artist member for twelve years in the Global Culture Center, founded by Japanese sculptor, Kenji Horiuchi and dedicated to promotion of an international exchange of art and culture.
